The home of billionaire Warren Buffett sits in a peaceful suburb of Omaha, Nebraska. He bought the house in 1958 for $31,500 or roughly $250,000 in dollars today. The house is estimated to be worth $652,619 in today’s money.
The house is 6,570 sq. Feet which contains five bedrooms which two and a half bathrooms. The property is guarded by fences and 24-hour rolling security cameras. Why not move Buffett to a more luxurious home? He mentioned in a BBC article, “I’m happy there. I’d move if I thought I’d be happier someplace else.”
Buffett explains, “I’m warm in the winter, I’m cool in the summer, it’s convenient for me,” he said an interview. “I couldn’t imagine having a better house.”
He also spoke to Charlie Rose and told her, “I have every possession I want. I have a lot of friends who have a lot more possessions. But in some cases, I feel the possessions possess them, rather than the other way around.”
If you were in his shoes would you do the same or would you buy a mega-mansion?
