In the era of internet entrepreneurs, its hard to differentiate the real entrepreneurs from the ones that aren’t. So we reached out to self made entrepreneur and teenage millionaire Faiz Imran
What are your thoughts on individuals flaunting the “amazing lifestyle” of an internet entrepreneur
“Most people that have enough time to be consistently post on social media are either in the influencer / personal branding business or are straight out liars and flexing.
Building a million dollar businesses doesn’t come easy, it requires a level of dedication and commitment most adults aren’t willing to take on, let alone the teenagers.
Am I saying everyone who posts about entrepreneurship and the lifestyle is faking? of course not, all i’m saying is social media is very one sided and you only see what they want you to see.
You either spend time building a real business or spend your time convincing people you are.
~ Faiz Imran
Do you feel there is a misrepresentation on social media of what entrepreneurship is actually like?
“Absolutely!
The amount of misinformation that goes around because of self proclaimed “gurus” wanting to sell courses to desperate individuals is insane”
Everyone likes to think about, getting 100 clients at $1,000 a pop and making $100,000….
People don’t realize once you take someones money for a service or product you take on a new responsibility and its your job to deliver the product or service that they paid for in a timely and effective manner.
You can’t build the infrastructure needed to scale and make it all possible overnight.
Do you have any advice for new entrepreneurs that are just starting out or wanting to start a business?
I think what people need to understand is You don’t want to “get rich overnight” or get attached to any of these pipe dreams, you need to invest time into learning and perfecting a craft.
That DOES NOT mean you have to buy any courses, everything you need can be found online. You can learn and find anything if you look in the right places. Even after investing thousands into courses almost everything i’ve learned can be found on youtube.
A course is simply a compilation of content you can find on youtube put together in one convenient place. When you’re starting out it doesn’t make sense to PAY for connivence, you should be investing everything directly into the business.
I would also suggest finding great mentors that you can specific questions as you progress, Questions that are experience related.
I’m personally always open to helping and mentoring motivated individuals at no cost. You can reach out to me on my instagram @Faizimran
