Smartphone manufacturers race against each other in releasing groundbreaking features annually. The most advanced features are always reserved for the flagship (most premium, most expensive) phones. Just recently, mid-range phones have become the customers’ choice. Its reasonable pricing coupled with flagship-like features makes it possible for people to stay in the trend without going broke. Samsung has revealed a cheap mid-range phone with 5G networking capabilities.

Samsung’s latest mid-range offering seems to offer 5G networking right out of the gate. The Samsung Galaxy A71 will boast the feature despite it being priced at only $599 in the US. This is half the price of most high-end, flagship phones.
Some sources suggest that this sudden inclusion of a premium feature in a mid-range phone could be attributed to the effects of the pandemic. They believe this is a way to jumpstart 5G handsets’ sales. This is also a way for Samsung to encourage purchases of 5G handsets; addressing the previously steep prices for 5G handsets.
