It’s almost July. Annually, around this time, people tune in to their social media accounts for some tech news. People scour the internet to grab a whiff of what the next flagship phone for apple looks like. Today, we’ll round up bits of leaks about the new iPhone 12.
Ever since the huge overhaul in 2017, people have been curious as to what other big changes could happen to the iPhone. The latest schematics reveal a familiar face for the flagship device.
Disappointment?
There have been circulating schematics of the supposed next-gen device for apple. This time, the handsets seem to have moved away from the sexy curves first seen on the iPhone X in 2017. Instead, the rumored iPhone 12 is slated to don the angular look last seen with the iPhone 5 and iPhone SE.
Apparently, the upcoming iPhones are also sporting the three-year-old notch design. No revisions whatsoever. Still the same size. Forbes writes that this may give off the “outdated” look for Apple’s next-gen smartphones. The bezels also look the same as the previous generations. As for the camera, Forbes speculates that the newest devices might not come with LiDAR sensors. They believe that the sum of these disappointments might be a dealbreaker for potential upgrades.
A Beloved Feature Might be Leaving
On top of the “disappointing” leaks for the new iPhone, there might be another feature leaving. Forbes reports that Apple might omit the EarPods in this year’s retail packaging. They do not believe that this is a big loss for long time apple fans. Forbes tells that people do not base their purchases as to what’s included in the retail packaging.
The price of a separate EarPods is $29.99 and the cheapest model of AirPods is $159.99, you might want to consider these when you’re planning to upgrade to the next generation iPhone.
In Summary
Despite the apparent shift of the design language for the new iPhone, these are still rumors. We aren’t so certain what the new iPhone would really look like or what features it does or it doesn’t have. We won’t know until the release date or until an extremely reliable leak comes out. I hope you’re as excited as we are in the upcoming battle for flagship phones this year. The latter part of 2020 will be an interesting one, nevertheless.
