Teen entrepreneurs seem to be a recurring theme in the current technological landscape. The teen entrepreneur we’re going to feature today is an interesting one. His list of achievements includes creating the globally-leading debate platform, Debate Island. We’ve had the chance to sit with him for a quick conversation on his success.
Who is Aaron Golbin?
Aaron Golbin is a 16-year-old tech entrepreneur. He is behind some of the most interesting businesses founded by teens. Before we dive deep into his multiple businesses, let us talk about his beginnings first.
Aaron founded his first company when he was just 8-years old. Kings corporation is a small company that provides recreational activities for students during lunchtime. Aaron learned how to run and manage a company from here. He was also passionate about programming and coding.
The Rise of DebateIsland.com
Aaron founded and established DebateIsland.com at the age of 12. It is an ultra-powerful debate platform that incorporates Artificial Intelligence (AI) and elements of learning management systems in aiding debaters. He reinvented debating and takes it to a whole new level by using AI.
We weren’t kidding when we told you that DebateIsland.com is a leading debate platform in the world. DebateIsland.com’s Debra AI is a powerful tool that displays numerous aspects of the users’ debate arguments, predicts possible winners of online debates, creates user analytics, and shows users’ likely political affiliation.
DebateIsland.com’s Online Debate Club product reminds us of a learning management system. It allows these clubs to host an online debate in a private community and learn from lessons through videos posted by teachers. DebateIsland.com’s Debra AI also provides its users with feedback about their arguments.
Aaron is proud to announce that they have revamped their platform. As part of their pledge to improve their services, they have launched “DebateIsland Online Debate Clubs 2.0”. This is in fulfillment of their pledge to streamline the lives of debaters around the world by aiding them in improvement.
Other Notable Ventures
After establishing DebateIsland.com, he turned his attention to BestDealWins.com. It is a platform that aims to gamify saving up for kids. Sadly, Aaron shut BestDealWins to make way for his other ventures.
His great grandmother, Tsilya Gershman Zaslavsky, gave him her diary entries during the Holocaust. This moved him to create LostCry.com. Golbin explained the platform to us as:
“…a website where anyone can share their ancestor’s story of hardship (Holocaust, Genocide, Wars, Immigration, etc.) and learn about the experiences of hardship of others’ ancestors.”
What’s It Like Being a Student-Entrepreneur
It all boils down to great time management skills. During the day, he is a high school student. He makes it a point to finishes his homework during his lunch period. to allow time for him to work on his companies at night. As for his greatest challenge so far, it’s still balancing work and school. He said:
“Well, the largest challenge I’ve faced with all of my companies is balancing school and “work” (I really don’t consider running my companies work, but consider it as fun). But, I’ve been able to overcome that challenge through developing my time management skills, something I’m continuing to improve.”
We also asked what part of being an entrepreneur excites him most. Golbin mentionED:
“For me, I love every part of entrepreneurship and running a company, from strategic planning to finances, to product management.”
