I’m almost certain that you have your own list of goals you wish to achieve for certain stages of your life. Whether finishing college at a certain age; becoming the youngest to ever achieve something; or earning your first seven figures at a point in your life. Perhaps that seven-figure dream is an end goal. What if I told you that a 17 year has more money than most of us will ever earn in our lifetimes?
Career Beginnings
Joelle Joanie “JoJo” Siwa is a TV star, singer, dancer, social media personality, and a YouTuber, at just 17 years old. She began as a sidekick to her mom in a couple of reality TV shows. At first, she was in the top 5 of Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition (the youngest in the season) and was subsequently eliminated together with her mom in week nine. In 2014, she auditioned for the ALDC dance competition team, getting chosen in 2015. During this time, she began appearing in Dance Moms, which follows the ALDC dance team.
She’s a Singer
JoJo is a singer and a dancer! She released “BOOMERANG” in 2016, a single that talks about bullying. The MV currently has 880 Million views and over 4 Million likes. Vivid Seats named JoJo “Breakout Artist of the Year” in 2018. She also had her own tour called “D.R.E.A.M. The Tour” where she visited 52 cities across the U.S and Canada plus additional performances in Australia and in the United Kingdom. (Wow!) Her concert earned $26.9 Million. We can’t make this stuff up.
She’s a Decorated Youtuber
JoJo is a YouTuber with millions of subscribers. Her two channels have a combined subscriber count just shy of 15 Million. Now, do you understand where she’s getting all the cash from? Cosmopolitan predicts that her net earnings from her channels are upwards of $9 Million annually. They said that the majority of this sum would come from the advertisements and viewership from her channels.
She’s a Retail Diva
I’m pretty sure JoJo is really easy to catch in a crowd, all thanks to the giant colorful bows sticking from her head. No matter how ridiculous this could look sometimes, it’s been a great source of major payday for JoJo. Her iconic hair bows filled the shelves of Claire’s, a fashion accessory company aimed at girls aged 9-12.
According to reports, she sold a whopping 40 Million hair bows in 2018 alone. Doing the math and multiplying it by how much it retails ($9.99 each); that would be a hefty $399.6 Million. We know it won’t be all for her since there are partnerships and taxes, but imagine the driving force JoJo has in the kids’ accessories market.
She has her own merchandise, such as night lights in Target and dolls in Walmart. Her action figures sat at the number one spot in terms of sales in Walmart, beating Barbie for a couple of weeks. I repeat, she dethroned BARBIE for a few weeks. Some U.K schools even banned her hair bows for causing trouble among students. JoJo’s hair bows would sometimes cause bullying. Some schools dubbed it as “a source of power among children”. That’s not something you would want to hear, but definitely what the product needs for publicity.
What’s Her Net Worth?
There aren’t so many details on JoJo’s life that are fully public, especially that she’s just 17 years old. Celebrity Net Worth guesses that her net worth would be in the neighborhood of $12 Million. However, most are skeptical about the figure since like what I said, we don’t know everything about her. That figure would most likely be even larger considering the sales of her hair bows.
Are you as startled as I am? At age 17, she’s already a multi-millionaire. What do you think is in store for her future? Do you think she’ll continue to sweep the nation like a storm?
