Brothers, Logan and Jake are probably one of the most polarizing figures in Social Media. Despite this, they are nothing short of a roving cash cow. They are visionaries and business minded men however, their shenanigans sometimes overshadow other parts of their personalities. They started their career in Vine, a now defunct video sharing site. From then on, they expanded in different social media sites bringing along millions of followers. They landed in Youtube and became full time content creators.
Before we compare, let us first see what they have been up to with their careers.
Logan Paul‘s Career
Let’s start with the older brother. Logan Paul began on Vine in 2013; gaining more than three million subscribers after a year. Following his rise to fame, he began marketing content on his other social media sites, allowing him to gain more followers.
Additionally, he appeared in multiple TV shows and movies including Law & Order: SVU, Weird Loners, Stitchers, and The Thinning. He also wrote the screenplay for an adult comedy, “Airplane Mode”, dubbed as the “American Pie for Gen Z’s”. Paul also dabbled in music. He released his first single “No Handlebars”, sampling of the song “Handlebars” by Flobots. As expected, he received flak for his music for containing sexist content.
In 2017, he received yet another barrage of criticisms for featuring a deceased corpse of a man in the Suicide Forest in Japan. Paul also received hate for behaving inappropriately while in Japan with celebrities and politicians calling him out for his acts. In 2018, another barrage of hate by escalating the infamous “Tide Pod Challenge” and tasering dead rats. This prompted Youtube to suspend his ad revenues.
Jake Paul’s Career
The younger Paul brother, Jake, joined his older brother in Vine. He also starred in Disney Channel’s Bizaardvark for almost two seasons. News broke out during the filming of the second season that Jake Paul would not be reprising his role as Dirk due to the complaints following the disturbances and dangers his pranks and parties present in their neighborhood.
After controversies in his career, Jake Paul began building his own brand and launched an entertainment collaborative, Team 10. He calls it a “social media incubator” that allows aspiring social media influencers to grow their fanbase and build their own brand. He released his single “It’s Everyday Bro” in 2017, peaking at #91 in the Billboard Hot 100, and becoming the third most disliked video in Youtube.
Numerous lawsuits have marred Paul’s career including noise complaints from their neighbors after he published his address, leading fans to congregate outside their mansion. Late in 2018, the original members of Team 10 left their headquarters leading Paul to admit that their team is over. However, rumors are starting to brew that a new team is currently on the horizon.
Who’s Worth More?
Despite the infamy, they are still successful entrepreneurs and businessmen. In a report by Wealthy Gorilla, Logan Paul and Jake Paul’s net worth are $19 Million apiece.
The brothers may seem that they have different tactics in becoming a successful entrepreneur but deep down it’s all the same. They both value their brand and continue to work on how to make their name stand out. Maybe in the future, Jake might break the tie if his Team 10 becomes a thing again; or Logan might overtake his little brother is his acting career turns up. Who knows? Only time will tell.
