I’ve have an extremely hard time saying no. Maybe you do too? This problem is more prevalent than we expect, particularly for those who are empathic or caring. We just hate the notion of not wanting to turn down business or hurt our client’s feelings.
When I became an entrepreneur, I said yes far, far too often. A third of the time I wanted to kick myself as soon as I did. Another third of the time I wanted to kick myself shortly afterward. How did I get myself into this mess?
Here are five reasons you need to get better at saying “No”:
If you don’t say no,
- Other peoples’ priorities will take precedence over ours.
- You will eventually get so busy that you will miss out on spending time with family and close friends.
- You will end up over-working and become stressed.
- You won’t be able to say yes to the really important opportunities that come your way.
- You will not have the time we need for rest and recovery.
